In 2017, Virgil Abloh partnered with Nike to design a Nike x Off-White collection of 10 sneakers, entitled “The Ten.” The collection marks the first time Abloh collaborated with Nike under his Off-White Brand. Virgil Abloh was a legendary American fashion designer and entrepreneur who tragically passed away in November 2021 after battling a rare form of cancer. Among numerous accomplishments, Abloh was the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s menswear collection, and creator/designer behind the highly successful Off-White label.

A rare complete 10 shoe collection of “The Ten” is now being auctioned at Sothebys with a final sale price estimated to be between $30,000 and $40,000. After an extension of its initial Mach 31 bidding close date, the lot is now expected to close on April 5. As of publishing, the collection’s current bid is at a low $22,000, with 2 bids and the reserve price met. It’s expected that bidding will soon escalate and bring the collection to a higher price, considering a pair of Abloh x Louis Vuitton Air Force ones was recently sold at an auction for $352,800. Notably, all 10 designs are no longer in production, and there may not be other opportunities for Abloh fans to acquire the legendary collection, which heavily influenced modern sneaker culture.
