Twitter Tests New ‘NFT Tweet Tiles’

Twitter is testing a new 'Tweet Tile' product feature that allows people to buy more, sell and display NFTs, while working directly with a select group of NFT marketplaces.

Twitter Tests New ‘NFT Tweet Tiles’

Announced in a tweet on October 27, Twitter will soon let you perform a series of steps in a single tweet, which includes displaying NFTs in a dedicated window where you can also list the details of the NFT creator, highlighting core token details, and including a call-to-action button that links direct to the NFT marketplace that hosts the NFT. So basically, you can now buy, showcase, and sell NFTs from a tweet, which the platform is calling ‘NFT Tweet Tiles.’

The marketplaces that they are working with to test the service are: Rarible, Magic Eden, Dapper Labs and Jump Trade NFT. The update has been enabled to be compatible with Ethereum, Flow, Solana, Tezos, Polygon, and Immutable X. This is the first step in a testing period for the new feature, so if successful we can expect more advanced tools to be built in the future.

In many ways, Twitter is home to the NFT community and with the new ownership under Elon Musk, Twitter might become the most Web3-friendly social media platform. On the flipside, other tech companies like Apple seem to be taking a more hostile stance against NFTs, which we previously wrote about in an article. As Instagram has also recently announced more features allowing people to buy and sell NFTs, it’s clear that many social media platforms are taking NFTs very seriously.
