The RIMOWA x Adidas Collaborative Capsule

After collaborating with Nike's RTFKT on a phygital collection, RIMOWA is also collaborating with Adidas on sneakers and backpacks.

The RIMOWA x Adidas Collaborative Capsule

Suitcase brand RIMOWA and footwear brand Adidas have come together to build a limited fashion capsule focused on their German origins. This includes a new take on the adidas NMD S1, made popular by the likes of Pharrell, as well as a backpack. Both items feature “Made in Germany” branding which is stamped in bright orange on the insole of the sneaker. The aluminum backpack comes in titanium and is ideal for outdoor, urban and overnight travel, a signature of RIMOWA’s design.

The sneaker is available in titanium and features a prime knit upper for flexible movement. The BOOST cushioning provides comfort. Each pair comes with two sets of shoelaces, one in orange and one in khaki. One can also find the coordinates of the brands’ German headquarters placed on the shoe’s midsole. The Adidas Trefoil branding sits on the tongues while the RIMOWA logos feature on the heel tabs.

The capsule was available from Thursday, November 17 on Adidas CONFIRMED and the RIMOWA website. The shoes will cost approximately $180 while the backpack will retail for about $1,950. RIMOWA’s most recent collaboration before this was with Nike-owned NFT brand RTFKT to drop a phygital collection of suitcases and NFTs. It looks like RIMOWA is hedging their bets by simultaneously collaborating with traditional sneaker brands and more experimental Web3 brands.
