The Auction of Kobe Bryant’s All-Star Game Adidas Crazy 8s

PWCC marketplace is auctioning off the Adidas Crazy 8 shoes that the legendary Kobe Bryant wore to his first NBA All-Star Game in 1998.

Kobe Bryant, the basketball star who lost his life in a helicopter crash in 2020, played this game as his first of eighteen All-Star game appearances, which puts him behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in number of All-Star game appearances. Kobe also won the NBA All-Star MVP award four times, matched only by Bob Pettit. The 1998 All-Star Game is remembered as one of the most historic by basketball fans as Kobe played against the legendary Michael Jordan for the very first time, which many people saw as a symbolic passing of the guard to the next generation of NBA superstars.

The shoe comes in black uppers and features a white design on the midsole and panels. It has hits of purple on the tongue where the Adidas logo is, the tongue tab and the heel tab and Kobe’s jersey No. 8 is stitched on the base of the tongue. The purple is to honor his 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers where he earned many awards including winning five NBA championships. The ankle logo is embroidered in gold lettering.

Bidding for the shoe is now open on the PWCC Marketplace for those who want to buy a piece of NBA history. At the time Kobe was signed with Adidas but eventually left in 2002 and then signed a four-year $40 Million deal with Nike in 2003. If Kobe had stayed with Adidas, perhaps there would have been even more legendary Kobe x Adidas sneakers to stand the test of time and be put up for auction.
