RTFKT & Nike’s Hoodies Set The Tone For AR Drip

Nike-owned RTFKT Studios is launching new 'AR Drip,' a virtual hoodie for RTFKT NFT avatar that comes along with a physical hoodie in real life.

RTFKT & Nike’s Hoodies Set The Tone For AR Drip

RTFKT debuted its first look at its collaborative AR Genesis hoodie with Nike on Twitter last week, which looks like a black hoodie with simple graphics to IRL humans. But the avid NFT collector already knows the RTFKT x Nike hoodie comes with a couple of tricks up its sleeve. The AR Genesis hoodie will release as both a Clone Wearable and physical piece of merch. For those who aren’t as connected to metaverse and NFT business, this means the hoodie collab will drop for your digital RTFKT avatar, or Clone, and for your IRL self.

If you look closely at the hoodie, you'll notice target markers on the sleeves and a QR code beside RTFKT and Nike's logos on the front. According to RTFKT, the target tracks the hoodie's AR experience, while the QR will "trigger" the hoodie's AR and track the 3D movement of the garment. Basically, wearing the hoodie will allow you to control your avatar in the metaverse!

This digital fashion development is just another accomplishment that solidifies RTFKT's reputation as a trendsetter for the digital fashion industry and the metaverse as a whole.
