Palace, the London-based skateboarding and clothing brand, has entered one of its biggest partnerships to date by teaming up with high-end fashion brand Gucci, which was officially announced on October 13. This came after months of speculation about the collab. The highly anticipated collection aims to combine the Palace streetwear cultural identity with Gucci’s legacy as a luxury fashion house.
The collection is mainly accessories and apparel that mix the two brands together under a unified aesthetic. You will find bold accessories, leather jackets, football-inspired jerseys, graphic T-shirts, knit bombers, and Palace x Gucci sneakers that also include a first ever women’s only sneaker collection. This collection launches on October 21 in Palace and Gucci stores across the world and on the Gucci Vault website.
Arguably, this is the ‘coolest’ brand that Gucci has collaborated with. Gucci also recently collaborated with Adidas, launching a collection that included several sought-after sneakers. Palace clothing is one of the most hyped items on the secondary market, often selling at significant markups over retail price and cementing the brand’s cultural cache in popular culture. For a brand like Gucci, working with Palace can help give Gucci a new sense of cultural relevance among younger audiences.
