New Balance Presents Special Soccer Boots in Time for The FIFA World Cup

New Balance hasn't shied away from collaborations in recent times. Just earlier this year, we saw collaborations between the brand and many big industry players such as Chelsea FC football star Raheem Sterling, British rapper Dave, and Italian fashion brand Stone Island. The latest release from New Balance is focused on athletic footwear.

In time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar, New Balance is ready to present their Headline Taker pack, a new line of soccer cleats. The campaign is fronted by Bukayo Saka, 21-year old Arsenal forward and England team player, and Harvey Elliott, 19-year old Liverpool midfielder.

The pack features the latest evolution of the Furon and Tekela models, the Furon v7 and Tekela v4. The Furon V7 comes in Bright Lapis with Hi-Lite accents with a Hypoknit upper to provide stretch and support, mesh lining for breathability, and a unique stud configuration for dynamic movement. It also features a 3D tongue tab that provides added grip. The Tekela V4 comes in a metallic silver and black colorway and also features Bright Lapis and Hi-Lite accents. It features a full-foot stretch-knit upper to bring the player closer to the ball, directional heel lining for added lockdown and a 3D knit collar for grip. It also has a laceless closure for secure lockdown and stability.

How New Balance continues to be a key player in the sneaker game while balancing interesting collaborations and actual functionality with releases like this Headline Taker Pack is interesting to track as culture evolves. It’s slightly different from the more hyped previous collaborations with brands like Aimé Leon Dore, but this new release makes the most sense for the upcoming World Cup. The “Headline Taker” pack, already available for purchase as of October 17, can be purchased only via the official New Balance website and select retailers.
