The Pokemon McDonalds cards are back on the marketplace with prices high enough to afford you a whole Happy Meal!

Pokemon prices have a history of selling for incredibly high prices but that only goes for decade-long collections. The new ones don’t sell for that much unfortunately, as online sellers are finding out after re-selling them for enough to buy a Happy Meal. Doing a search on eBay, for instance, will show you that a Pokemon’s Match Battle Trading Card set sells for $7, not much more than the cost of a Happy Meal which sells for $3.29 in North America, depending on the type of meal. Most Pokemon McDonalds TCG packs retail around $5 online, which means a collector can buy and resell for a positive profit margin, even if that profit margin is only $1.

The most expensive card in the set, for those who haven’t opened their packs, is the holographic Pikachu which sells for about $10–15. In contrast, other holographic cards in the set sell for around $3–6 while the rest go for $1–2.

Although it’s possible that the prices of these cards will eventually go up in the years to come, they might even skyrocket once this time-limited event has passed, some collectors may just be happy to use them now to buy another Happy Meal.
