Adidas and Allbirds have announced a second collaboration as they build a new pair of sneakers evolving from their first collab, the Futurecraft which was released May 2021. The first collab resulted in a creation of the world’s most sustainable sneakers. The new design, “Footprint”, will be the lowest carbon performance shoe ever released by Allbirds or Adidas, the only model hitting below 3 kg CO2e.

The excitement doesn’t end there- this drop will have a wider release and be available in a variety of four colorways. This is intentionally unlike previous drops, as the brands want to demonstrate that low-carbon running shoe production is scalable. Kimia, Product Manager at Adidas, expanded on their vision when they said “Importantly, the launch of the Adizero X Allbirds 2.94 KG CO2e proves that like-minded ambition can help deliver low-carbon running shoes at scale This project has laid the foundation for the decarbonisation goal. All the learnings from this project have subsequently and immediately been incorporated into the creation of further running shoes in order to achieve our footprint reductions more quickly. So stay tuned for more inspiring running shoes that will shake up the market.”

The shoes have made their official launch, and will be available to UK sneakerheads towards the end of April 2022.
