Adidas Creates Colorful Collection for Pride Month

In an attempt to uplift and inform people about the LQBTQ community, Adidas is partnering with Australian queer artist Kris Andrew Small to create a new collection of sneakers for the upcoming pride month in June.

Adidas plans to incorporate this design into some of their most popular sneakers, including the Adilette slides, the Forum Triple Platform Low, Adidas Superstar, Stan Smith, Campus 80s, and Gamemode sneakers.

Each sneaker will be detailed with artwork inspired by the landmark 1969 Stonewall Uprising, one of the key moments in the US gay rights movement. The art on these shoes will feature symbolic phrases important to the pride movement.

The Adidas superstar sneakers will feature the words “Be together” wrapped around the shoe from front to back. The Stan Smith sneakers will focus on “love, diversity and joy” with bright graphics depicted across the shoe. The artist behind the designed associated with this project said that he “wanted it to be a reworking of the traditional rainbow/ pride visual language we are so used to seeing.”
